Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahu (Allah bless his soul) mentions himself in his poetry as:

Abiding by the rules of Shariat he espoused four times.

Wives of Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahu:
1. One of his wives belonged to the house of Hazrat Makhdoom Burhan Langar Makhdoom. Hazrat Makhdoom was the son of Hazrat Sheikh Baha ud Din Baha ul Haq and a close companion of Hazrat Ghaus ul Mulk, Sheikh ul Islam, Sheikh Baha ud Din Zakaria. (Manaqib e Sultani)
2. His second wife was from the Awan tribe (Monaqib Sultani 29)
3. His third wife was from a tribe closely related to Awan.
4. His fourth wife belonged to a Hindu accountant’s family whose proposal was given to Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahu after an invitation to the shrine of Ghaus Baha ul Haq. She embraced Islam before entering in the bond of marriage.

Children of Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahu:
Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahu had eight sons. He also had one daughter names Mai Rehmat Khatoon. The family tree of Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahu is as follows:

2) Hazrat Sultan Wali Muhammad (had children)
3) Hazrat Sultan Lateef Muhammad (had children)
4) Hazrat Sultan Saleh Muhammad (no children)
5) Hazrat Sultan Ishaq Muhammad (no children)
6) Hazrat Sultan Fateh Muhammad (no children)
7) Hazrat Sultan Shareef Muhammad (no children)
8) Hazrat Sultan Hayat Muhammad (no children)

It has been three centuries since Hazrat Sultan ul Arifeen passed away. In this time his family has spread substantially. According to an approximation, the family count has reached about two hundred and fifty which includes men and women.

1. Hazrat Sultan Noor Muhammad, his eldest son’s posterity is inhabited in the village of Qazi near Layyah. They are agriculturists and herbalists by profession.
2. From Hazrat Sultan ul Arifeen’s second child, Sultan Wali Muhammad there shoot two sub branches;

1) From the sons of Sultan Azmat, son of Sultan Muhammad Hussain, Sultan Haji Sharif Ahmed and Muhammad Yar.; and their sons Ghaus Baksh and Rab Nawaz whose following is set in Ahmedpur Sharkia near Rahim Yar Khan. They are heir to the following of Hazrat Sultan Azmat (son of Sultan Muhammad Hussain, son of Sultan Wali Muhammad). Their daily needs are fulfilled by the aid received from the following and agricultural income.

2) The sons of Sultan Noor Muhammad (son of Sultan Muhammad Hussain, son of Sultan Wli Muhammad) are inhabited in Chah Samandari near the old tomb of Hazrat Sultan Bahu. Most of the descendants are agriculturists and followers of Tareeqat whereas some even joined government service.

3) Sultan Hafiz Muhammad (son of Sultan Muhammad Hussain, son of Wali Muhammad) is the third son of Sultan Muhammad Hussain. His descendants are inhabited at the present tomb of Hazrat Sultan Bahu and are heirs of the following of Hazrat Sultan Bahu. They own vast agricultural land and are also employed in government services.

Some of the descendants of Yar Muhammad, second son of Sultan Azmat, are also inhabited at the tomb of Hazrat Sultan Bahu

Shrine of Hazrat Sultan Bahu

The descendants of Sultan Lateef Muhammad, son of Sultan Bahu, are scarcely populated in Sabzal Kot near Bahawalpur. Their following faced financial hardships and anonymity and finally the following stopped functioning. It must be reiterated that the descendants of Hazrat Sultan Bahu spread through his three sons only and presently only two of these sons have continuing descendants i.e. Sultan Noor Muhammad and Sultan Wali Muhammad. It must also be kept in mind that the heir of Faqr, passed on by Hazrat Sultan ul Arifeen, is Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Muhammad Abdul Aziz whose tomb is located just half a kilometer East of Hazrat Sultan Bahu’s tomb.

Sultan Muhammad Abdul Aziz (son of Sultan Fateh Muhammad, son of Sultan Ghulam Rasool, son of Sultan Ghulam Meeran, son of Sultan Wali Muhammad, son of Sultan Noor Muhammad, son of Sultan Muhammad Hussain, son of Sultan Wali Muhammad, son of Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahu.) migrated from Chah Samandari to the present tomb of Hazrat Sakhi Sultan Bahu, where his sons: Sultan Muhammad Safdar Ali, the sixth Sultan ul Faqr Sultan Asghar Ali, Sultan Muhammad Farooq Ali spread the realization of Ism e Allah. His fourth son Sultan Muazzam Ali is still living. The eldest son of Hazrat Sultan Muhammad Asghar Ali, Sultan Muhammad Ali is heir to the throne of Faqr and heads the following of Hazrat Sultan Muhammad Abdul Aziz. Sultan Muhammad Ali is the Patron in Chief of Islahee Jamaat and Tanzeem ul Arifeen and the successor of Faqr e Muhammadi. He has the charge of distributing Ism e Allah to the seekers of truth. This following holds the annual Jashn e Milad e Mustafa on every 12 and 13 of April. It also has the renowned “Jamia Ghausia Azizia Anwar Bahu” where religious education is being imparted. Muhammadia Haideria Sultania Awan club is also a member group of this following.
